Hello everyone,<\/p>\n

I’m excited to share my latest project using my brand-new Arduino Duemilanove: the DIY IR Receiver. The goal of this project was to enable my laptop to receive commands via an infrared (IR) remote controller.<\/p>\n

To accomplish this, I repurposed an old IR receiver that came with the video card of my previous computer. I decided to use the matching remote controller to send IR signals to the receiver. The result? A surprisingly useful setup that adds a new layer of functionality to my laptop.<\/p>\n

I wrote a simple Python script to process the incoming IR signals. The code is straightforward and easily customizable\u2014you can add various responses to different IR commands, making it a versatile tool for remote control applications.<\/p>\n

This project turned out to be a fun and practical way to explore the capabilities of my Arduino and Python programming. If you’re interested in DIY electronics and coding, I highly recommend giving it a try!<\/p>\n
